Muni Minute

June seen the start of many things around the Muni. From our Men’s league return, to our first 3 man scramble and Men’s invitational last week.

Congratulations to the team of Huggins, Huggins, and MacKenzie on their impressive score of 16 under to claim the 3-man title, and the Keith Hunter who won our Men’s Invitational at the age of 17 with a score of 70. Beating out Steve Feeney after two playoff holes.

In July we have our Sr. Men’s Club championship coming up on Sunday July 25th. Registration is now live on Chronogolf.com or via the link posted below.

We will also see the move to Stage 3 very soon, and the ability to use clubhouse again to lounge. Along with that we will probably see the return to normal cups on the course and ability to remove flag stick (If desired) as courses in the area start to move back towards normal practices.

Lastly the Ken’s food truck will no longer be with us on Wednesdays in the parking lot. It was great to have them for the 4 weeks we did and I hope everyone got to enjoy the great food, but with the opening of their new brewhouse the truck is needed there and will no longer be visiting us. The board and myself are currently working on new food options that will not only cater Wednesday nights but provide the course with daily food options.

Our new Patio is open!!!

As of Friday as Ontario moved into Stage 1 we were finally able to open our new patio. If you haven’t got a chance to see or sit on the patio yet, I highly recommend it as the chairs are comfy and the views are great. Please remember to scan the QR code on sandwich board or entrance door for covid screening before using the patio.

Our Men’s league registration is now complete and the league begins this week. Our teams can be found on golfscoring.net/stratfordmuni and scores can be handed in at pro shop for entering into system.

Lastly lockers and cart storage are now open again for use, but remember to follow all covid protocols.

Cheers

What a weekend of weather!

I hope everyone was able to get out for a quick round, followed by relaxing in their backyards.

Over the weekend we slowly released our new fly over video of The Muni. For those who follow us on Instagram and Facebook, they were able to see teaser clips of the video, prior to the full video being released yesterday on Facebook.

A link has been attached below for everyone viewing.

We are very proud of all the changes made at The Muni, and couldn’t think of a better way the share them.

Lastly anyone interested in our Men’s league please make sure to register before Wednesday June 9th.

Here comes June!!!

As May comes to an end I’d like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during our first weeks open. Hopefully in June we will start to see things like our patio open and a few less restrictions around the course.

June does bring with it the start of some leagues and events.

Our Men’s league registration is now live with the link posted in our last minute minute and on the website. Please make sure to register by June 9th if you are interested in playing.

We also have our 3-Man Scramble on June 26th and Men’s Invitational on July 3rd. Rules and details for both can be found on the events page on the website or on Facebook.

The course has also been in fabulous shape and we will be looking to build on that through June with regular maintenance practices. This may include a few mornings where tee times start later then normal allowing the staff time to work on greens keeping them healthy from all this traffic.

It feels so good to be back!!!!!

Thank you so much to everyone for the great restart to the season. It has been amazing seeing everyone out and smiling.

As we continue to move forward please continue to follow all Covid protocols and hopefully soon we will be able to use our new patio, and have limited numbers back in the clubhouse again.

I am a little behind on the Men’s league and Tournament registrations as other things have stole time during the lockdown, but our Men’s league registration is now live. You can access the registration page but clicking this link https://www.chronogolf.com/club/1087/events/361911 or by visiting our website and the men’s league header.

Registration is done via your Chronogolf account and payment can be made at the golf course with debit or credit.

I plan to have all tournament registration pages also up in the coming days.

Here’s to a great 2021 season and if you have any question about how to register please reach out to me.

Hello Everyone

The Ontario Government has officially announced today that golf courses must close as of Saturday at 12:01am. All tee times moving forward have been deleted and everyone is asked to remain off the property.

We will continue to maintain the course and have it in tip top shape for the second we can be back.

We didn’t officially open until May 16th last season and we still had a great season, and this year will be no different.

I will continue to update everyone as I learn more.

Muni Minute

As we come to the end of our first week open, I’m not even sure where to begin this update.

It’s been a week that has seen such great things. Like being allowed to stay open during a stay at home order, full tee sheets, and a course that has winter beautifully. It has also brought the completion of our great changes like the new patio, tree’s being planted and our pro shop starting to see stock.

Unfortunately this has not come easy and it has also been the hardest week for our staff and myself that we have ever had to face. I am not going to touch on it yet as what comes next is far more important than anything else, but please know that we are trying our best to keep everyone safe and beg that everyone please, please, please, continue to follow the rules, both of the course and Covid and that this week has been so tough that I am looking for people who would like to marshal for about 5 to 15 hours a week in the afternoons, and those interested should come talk to me.

This week we suffered the sudden passing of our team and family member Bob Steckly. Over the past 21 seasons at the Muni Bob became a very familiar face to both members and guest a like. Whether he was greeting you from behind the green as he patiently waited for groups to putt, or it was a quick wave from the rough machine as you walked bye, Bob always offered a friendly face. Bob also created an enjoyable work place as he was always good for a laugh in the shop, and you also knew you could depend on him to be there (I think he missed 1 day in 21 seasons).

Bob you will be missed by us all.
