Thank you all for an incredible 2024 season! As of now, the course is officially closed for play. We appreciate each of you for making this year memorable, and we look forward to an even better season ahead in 2025.
Course Protection Reminder Please remember to stay off the course during the off-season to prevent any potential damage as we undergo important projects like drainage improvements and tee block construction. Protecting the grounds is essential as we prepare for next season.
Annual General Meeting A reminder for all members: our AGM is scheduled for November 13th at 7 p.m. in the clubhouse. We hope to see you there for a recap of this season and an outlook for 2025.
Due to weather reports with high percentages of rain, we will remain closed on Monday. However, we’re planning to reopen Tuesday through Friday for our last days of the season.
Carts & Course Availability Please note that riding carts may have limited availability later in the week as we begin winter service preparations. We’ll keep everyone updated, but plan accordingly for possible walking rounds.
Final Day of the Season Friday, November 8th, will be our final day for the 2024 season this may push sooner if the weather changes for the worst, but for now our firm closing date will be the 8th. Be sure to stop by for a last round and enjoy the course before winter arrives!

As we approach the end of the 2024 season, we want to thank everyone for an incredible year! Here are some final reminders as we prepare the course and facilities for the winter.
Last Day of Full Operations Our final day of full operations will be Sunday, November 3rd. From November 4th to November 9th, we will continue to monitor the weather closely. If conditions allow, the tee sheet will open three days in advance for any days we can accommodate play. Should the weather turn unfavorable, we will remain closed.
Locker and Push Cart Storage Reminder Please note that all locker contents and push cart storage items must be removed by November 1st for winter storage preparations.
Cart Compound Closure For those storing driving carts in the compound, the final removal date is November 3rd. Please ensure your carts are removed by this date as we transition to offseason operations.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) A reminder to all members: our AGM will be held on November 13th at 7 pm in the clubhouse. We encourage members to join us as we review the season and present information on the 2025 season, including membership rates.
Winter Golf Academy & Trackman Simulator Stay tuned for details on our Winter Golf Academy! The Trackman Simulator will be set up and ready to go from January through April. This is a great opportunity to keep your swing in shape during the offseason, so watch for more updates soon.

As we near the end of the 2024 golf season, here are some key updates and important dates to note as we wrap up the year.
Course Closing Dates We will remain fully open for play until Sunday, November 3rd, with regular operations. From November 3rd to November 9th, we will be open weather permitting, and the tee sheet will open only three days in advance.

Winter Golf Academy Stay sharp over the offseason! Our Trackman Simulator will be available from January through April as part of our Winter Golf Academy. Keep an eye out for more details on how to sign up and improve your game during the colder months.
Course Improvements for 2025 We are excited to announce that drainage and tee block construction will begin in mid-November. These course improvements will help elevate your playing experience in the 2025 season, and we’re eager to see the results next year.

We’re looking at a gorgeous weekend for golf, and we hope to see everyone out on the course! Please note that while the afternoons are expected to be ideal, the mornings will remain cool, so be sure to contact the pro shop for updates on potential frost delays.
Why Do We Stay Off Frosty Grass? Frost may look harmless, but walking or driving on frost-covered grass can cause serious damage. The frozen blades are fragile, and even light pressure can shatter the grass cells, leading to unsightly brown patches that will take time to heal. So for the sake of keeping our greens and fairways in top condition, please help us by staying off the course during frost delays!

Annual General Meeting (AGM)
We invite all 2024 members of the Stratford Municipal Golf Course to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, November 13th, at 7 PM in the clubhouse. This meeting is open exclusively to 2024 members. It’s a great opportunity to discuss the year, share feedback, and plan for the future of our club. We hope to see as many members as possible attend!
Year-End Members Closing Scramble
We’re looking forward to wrapping up the season in style with our Members Closing Scramble this Saturday, October 5th. For those who have signed up, the event will begin with an 11 AM shotgun start. We’re excited to see everyone for a fun day of golf, prizes, and celebration. Let’s make it a great finale to the season!
Driving Range Closure
As the season winds down, please note that the driving range will close for the season on Monday, October 14th. This will give us time to remove the nets and complete necessary repairs to the tee blocks. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prepare the range for winter.
Course Closure – Weather Dependent
While the range will close soon, we’re hoping for more opportunities to get out on the course! Our course closure will remain weather-dependent, and we’re optimistic that we can enjoy some late October or even early November golf if the weather cooperates. Keep an eye on updates as we make decisions based on course conditions.

Romeo Cup Champions! A huge congratulations to Team Muni for their incredible performance in the Romeo Cup! After a hard-fought weekend, we proudly secured a dominating victory over Stratford Country Club, winning 18-6. Our team gave it their all, and it paid off! Well done to everyone involved—your dedication and teamwork were inspiring!
Smoke Cole Memorial Winners Congratulations to Wayne Huggins, winner of the Smoke Cole Memorial, and Lonnie McKay, the Net Winner! It was a great day in memory of Smoke, and we were honored to have his son Dave here to play and present the plaque.
Upcoming Event: Members Closing Scramble Don’t forget our Members Closing Scramble on Saturday, October 5th! This 4-person scramble will be followed by a meal and door prizes. The cost is $35, and sign-up is available at the pro shop counter. There are only 72 spots, so make sure to reserve yours before it’s too late!
Next Week: Hosting the PGA of Canada Next week, we’re honored to host the PGA of Canada for a 3-day event. Please note the following:
Monday to Wednesday: The clubhouse will be closed for the event.
Tuesday: The range will be closed.
However, the side door closest to the ladies’ room and the outside entrance to the men’s locker room will remain open for access.
We appreciate your understanding as we host this event!
Tonight: Howling Moon Tailgate Party! Join us tonight on the patio for the Howling Moon Tailgate Party! From 6 PM to 9 PM, enjoy live music and all your favorite tailgate foods—wings, burgers, poutine, and more. It’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend, so grab some friends and come on down!

This Weekend: The Romeo Cup! Get ready for an action-packed weekend of golf as we host the Romeo Cup! The competition kicks off this Saturday with 36 holes at the Stratford Country Club, starting at 8 AM, followed by the final round of 18 holes here at The Muni on Sunday, starting at 9 AM.
