Muni Minute- 2018 Rates, Early Membership Dates, and Events

Hello Everyone

2018 at the Muni has already started for me, and although it feels like it is 3 long cold months away preparation for our 2018 season is well on its way. Last year we saw the addition of our new website, and with that being said I learned very quickly that I don’t know how to operate computers as well as I thought I did (writing code is not easy) and it wasn’t used to its max potential. I am trying hard to learn and make that change this year, our 2018 event calendar has been filled out already and dates for events such as Club championships etc have been added. (some of these dates are subject to change e.g. Romeo cup depended on SCC etc.)  Minor events or small group bookings will not be added to calendar, but bigger groups will be so you can see what is happening at your course. I really stress that it’s important as members to use the website as it contains the events calendar, online tee time booking, and also all of our Muni Minutes and info, along with sharing these to our Facebook page.

The 2018 rates have also been uploaded along with the dates and times for our Early membership sales. (see calendar or events!!) I have noticed that the first time you visit site the 2017 info will still be showing but if you refresh the page it will change instantly for you. **If you can’t make the early membership sales dates or times please email me and I will try my best to arrange a time to meet you. Please only use this option if its a absolute must.

I would also like to welcome our new board members, Jack Brooks, Mark Nelson and Al Holmes we are happy to have you as part of the board and are looking forward to the 2018 season.

Hope your keeping warm.

Sr Games Muni Vs. Mitchell

Last Thursday 24 players from the Muni travelled west to the Mitchell G. & C.C. to complete our home and home series against the Mitchell Seniors. The Muni seniors had a slim lead of 2 points, using the Stableford format, heading back to Mitchell. Although the rain was threatening, we completed our day. And a great day it was, well not great because the Mitchell Seniors battled back to win by 8 points, making them the overall winners by 6 points. (934 to 928).  We had a number of 8’s on our scorecards and although 8’s may be good for Crazy 8’s, they proved to be our nemesis on this day. Jeff Healey led our squad feeling quite comfortable on his old course and being a multiple Senior’s Champion with 39 points, followed by Jimmy Avery (who would like to take back his crazy 8 on hole 15) with 36 points followed by Bud Dixon, John Brown and Ken Reilly rounding out our top 5.
We would like to thank Kyle Brodhagen from our course and Tim Ertel from the Mitchell course and especially Bruce Barnes for organizing the event for Mitchell. Also the cooks and kitchen staff for 2 great meals. Thanks to all for participating and as they say – Maybe next year.

Muni Minute

Hello Everyone

What a May it has been!! With what has seemed like constant rain for most of the month, and a forecast that doesn’t look like it’s about to end anytime soon, we can all cross our fingers for some warmer drier days come June. Bonus though is the course is nice and green!!

Coming up in June we have many tournaments or event bookings, please make sure to check events calendar along with the tee sheet for tee times and availability. Small events wont be posted on the calendar but the big events you will be able to find.

June also brings our Raise The Roof Event feature live music from Strings and Traps along with a pulled pork or chicken dinner. Tickets can be purchased at the clubhouse and proceeds go to helping us break ground on our new maintenance shed come fall. It will be a great night of food and music at the Muni and we look forward to seeing everyone out.

Muni Minute

Hello Everyone

With May coming up very fast, and bringing the start of our leagues and events I thought I’d send out a quick reminder of these important dates. This Tuesday at 6pm there will be a ladies night meeting for anyone looking to get information about the upcoming year. Our Mens night will be starting on May 3rd and registration is due by April 29th so we can have our team draft on April 30th at 6pm in clubhouse. We are still looking for people to captain the teams, it is a fun night of drafting with zero skill needed, so if your interested please see me.

Also our Annual Members Opening Scramble will take place on May 6th at 11am, the sign up sheet is up on the information board in clubhouse. It is open any members and is a fun day of golf followed by a meal.

We at the Muni are also currently looking for 2 active members to fill vacant spots on our board of directors. As a director you meet monthly to discuss the activities and operations of the golf course, and help in the decision making for the course. If you are interested in joining or more information please contact myself or Bob Hughes.

Here is to finally getting some dry weather.

Muni Minute

Hello Everyone

What unbelievable weather we are having in a 4 day span we saw all 4 seasons from snow Friday to 20 degrees Monday, and with all these April showers in between on top of that the course is still extremely wet. I am hoping to have carts on the course by Thursday or Friday at the latest, along with the opening of the Driving Range. Fingers Crossed we don’t see anymore rain.

We will also be holding our annual Men’s league meeting on Wed April 19th at 7pm in the clubhouse for anyone interested in hearing about changes to the league, sign-up or questions or concerns about the league. The sign up deadline for the league is April 29th as Men’s night starts May 3rd.

Lastly HUGE Thank You to everyone that came out and helped with the member clean up day!! the course is in great shape with almost everything cleaned up and looking like summer already, it was great to see the number of people that came out to help make the Muni the best it can be.
