Muni Minute
As we come to the end of our first week open, I’m not even sure where to begin this update.
It’s been a week that has seen such great things. Like being allowed to stay open during a stay at home order, full tee sheets, and a course that has winter beautifully. It has also brought the completion of our great changes like the new patio, tree’s being planted and our pro shop starting to see stock.
Unfortunately this has not come easy and it has also been the hardest week for our staff and myself that we have ever had to face. I am not going to touch on it yet as what comes next is far more important than anything else, but please know that we are trying our best to keep everyone safe and beg that everyone please, please, please, continue to follow the rules, both of the course and Covid and that this week has been so tough that I am looking for people who would like to marshal for about 5 to 15 hours a week in the afternoons, and those interested should come talk to me.
This week we suffered the sudden passing of our team and family member Bob Steckly. Over the past 21 seasons at the Muni Bob became a very familiar face to both members and guest a like. Whether he was greeting you from behind the green as he patiently waited for groups to putt, or it was a quick wave from the rough machine as you walked bye, Bob always offered a friendly face. Bob also created an enjoyable work place as he was always good for a laugh in the shop, and you also knew you could depend on him to be there (I think he missed 1 day in 21 seasons).
Bob you will be missed by us all.
