Our new Patio is open!!!

As of Friday as Ontario moved into Stage 1 we were finally able to open our new patio. If you haven’t got a chance to see or sit on the patio yet, I highly recommend it as the chairs are comfy and the views are great. Please remember to scan the QR code on sandwich board or entrance door for covid screening before using the patio.

Our Men’s league registration is now complete and the league begins this week. Our teams can be found on golfscoring.net/stratfordmuni and scores can be handed in at pro shop for entering into system.

Lastly lockers and cart storage are now open again for use, but remember to follow all covid protocols.

Cheers

What a weekend of weather!

I hope everyone was able to get out for a quick round, followed by relaxing in their backyards.

Over the weekend we slowly released our new fly over video of The Muni. For those who follow us on Instagram and Facebook, they were able to see teaser clips of the video, prior to the full video being released yesterday on Facebook.

A link has been attached below for everyone viewing.

We are very proud of all the changes made at The Muni, and couldn’t think of a better way the share them.

Lastly anyone interested in our Men’s league please make sure to register before Wednesday June 9th.

Here comes June!!!

As May comes to an end I’d like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during our first weeks open. Hopefully in June we will start to see things like our patio open and a few less restrictions around the course.

June does bring with it the start of some leagues and events.

Our Men’s league registration is now live with the link posted in our last minute minute and on the website. Please make sure to register by June 9th if you are interested in playing.

We also have our 3-Man Scramble on June 26th and Men’s Invitational on July 3rd. Rules and details for both can be found on the events page on the website or on Facebook.

The course has also been in fabulous shape and we will be looking to build on that through June with regular maintenance practices. This may include a few mornings where tee times start later then normal allowing the staff time to work on greens keeping them healthy from all this traffic.

It feels so good to be back!!!!!

Thank you so much to everyone for the great restart to the season. It has been amazing seeing everyone out and smiling.

As we continue to move forward please continue to follow all Covid protocols and hopefully soon we will be able to use our new patio, and have limited numbers back in the clubhouse again.

I am a little behind on the Men’s league and Tournament registrations as other things have stole time during the lockdown, but our Men’s league registration is now live. You can access the registration page but clicking this link https://www.chronogolf.com/club/1087/events/361911 or by visiting our website and the men’s league header.

Registration is done via your Chronogolf account and payment can be made at the golf course with debit or credit.

I plan to have all tournament registration pages also up in the coming days.

Here’s to a great 2021 season and if you have any question about how to register please reach out to me.

Hello Everyone

The Ontario Government has officially announced today that golf courses must close as of Saturday at 12:01am. All tee times moving forward have been deleted and everyone is asked to remain off the property.

We will continue to maintain the course and have it in tip top shape for the second we can be back.

We didn’t officially open until May 16th last season and we still had a great season, and this year will be no different.

I will continue to update everyone as I learn more.

As we come to the end of our first week open, I’m not even sure where to begin this update.

It’s been a week that has seen such great things. Like being allowed to stay open during a stay at home order, full tee sheets, and a course that has winter beautifully. It has also brought the completion of our great changes like the new patio, tree’s being planted and our pro shop starting to see stock.

Unfortunately this has not come easy and it has also been the hardest week for our staff and myself that we have ever had to face. I am not going to touch on it yet as what comes next is far more important than anything else, but please know that we are trying our best to keep everyone safe and beg that everyone please, please, please, continue to follow the rules, both of the course and Covid and that this week has been so tough that I am looking for people who would like to marshal for about 5 to 15 hours a week in the afternoons, and those interested should come talk to me.

This week we suffered the sudden passing of our team and family member Bob Steckly. Over the past 21 seasons at the Muni Bob became a very familiar face to both members and guest a like. Whether he was greeting you from behind the green as he patiently waited for groups to putt, or it was a quick wave from the rough machine as you walked bye, Bob always offered a friendly face. Bob also created an enjoyable work place as he was always good for a laugh in the shop, and you also knew you could depend on him to be there (I think he missed 1 day in 21 seasons).

Bob you will be missed by us all.

Hello Everyone

Its with great pleasure that I get to say, we will be staying open during the Stay at home order announced yesterday. Golf has been deemed a safe activity and we hope everyone gets out and enjoys the course during these hard times.

The clubhouse does remain off limits accept for payments, so please make sure to follow these rules. Also outside gathering can not occur so please arrive only 10 minutes before your tee times, and exit property immediately after round.

Lastly thank you to everyone for getting used to the new system. We are also learning it with you and as the week has gone on we have seen vast improvements from both sides of the system. Please remember to keep putting everyone’s name who is playing in the times as accurate as possible, and be respectful with booking times and no showing. We have been tracking this season, as these are very valuable to other golfers and the course.

Can’t wait to continue seeing everyone.

Happy Opening Day Everyone!!!

The golf season is finally here, and even though Covid has hit us with a 3rd Wave, hopefully everyone can use the Muni as that place to escape for a few hours.

Please make sure to visit our website and review the Covid Precautions before arriving and remember to follow all rules while on the property.

Also the Patio is still under construction so the only entrance to building will be the main entrance on parking lot side of the building. Please be cautious of the taped off areas and machinery.

I am also sad to announce that at the moment carts will remain off the course. It does look dry but there is still some standing water and the ground is still extremely soft causing mud to surface with the weight of carts and mowers. We will continue to monitor and get them out as soon as we can but please be friendly to the staff and myself about this decision as we cant see wrecking the course for April 3rd golf.

Lets makes 2021 a golf season to remember.

Hello Everyone

With the latest announcement from the provincial government I just thought I would send a quick email on what Saturday will bring at The Muni.

We will be open!! Even with the grey lockdown emergency break, outdoor activities like Golf will be allowed to continue. We will see protocols in the same manner as to when we opened last season, with a full list of rules on our website under Covid Precautions.

The main rules being the clubhouse and patio will remain closed except for payment or for take out of beer/snacks and will limited to 4 people at a time, players will also be asked to arrive no sooner then 10 minutes before their tee time and leave after finishing their round.

We are lucky to remain open during this time and hope everyone follows these precautions to the fullest.

Lastly the new tee sheet has launched and has been filling up quickly with just a few question coming in about adding players or guest etc.

Guest are only allowed to be booked 4 days in advance, even when it’s a member booking the time and adding a guest to their time. This means you will have to wait till the 4 day period to make tee times if it involves a guest. This also includes long time members who have not made it in to get their membership yet as they are not in the system and recognized as a public player until membership is purchased. Also we please ask that all names be entered into the slots as accurate as you can and not left as guest or using a filler member so someone can’t join you. This will be a busy year and every lost tee time matters, and could be filled by someone looking to play. Also providing our system and staff accuracy on player type payments etc.

We know there will be some bugs and getting used to the system period but will provide an easier more enjoyable booking once learned.

I can’t wait to see everyone Saturday
