Muni Minute

Hello Everyone

What an amazing first week of November for golf.

The course will remain open for play until November 6th, when we will then close for the season.

The weather past November 6th does look nice for golf but we have many things we must do to prepare the course for winter and need time to do so. We ask that everyone respects this and please remain off the course.

I personally want to thank everyone for the amazing season and I already can’t wait for 2023 at The Muni. It seems like every season we continue to grow and improve at great lengths.

2022 AGM information will be released very soon by the Board of Directors. Continue to follow the Muni Minute for details.

Our Simulator will also return this winter!!!!!

It is a great way to keep your swing throughout the off season, and with the Trackman technology you may find you do nothing but improve.

We offer, memberships, league play, and standard rentals.

Who wouldn’t want to pass their winter hitting some balls and stepping into 2023 better, and longer than 2022.

Muni Minute

With the last week of October closing in, I just wanted to send a quick Muni Minute with all our year end details.

With our usual closing date of October 31st, we are asking that everyone has their lockers, push cart storage area, and those with drive carts in the compound, cleared out for the season by Oct 30th. This allowing us to do our winter cleaning and any clubhouse maintenance.

At the moment the weather in the first week of November looks great but that can change very quickly. We ask that everyone be prepared for an Oct 31st closing with the chance of us remaining open till November 6th at the latest.

If we do remain open for the first week of November it will be bare minimum on the course with flags and tee markers only.

We will continue to post updates on a firm closing date between the 31st and 6th but we hope everyone enjoyed their 2022 Muni season and we look forward to seeing everyone back in 2023.

For those that can’t wait for the spring to continue golfing, our simulator will be back up and running from January 3rd until April 1st.

Membership, Winter League and single use prices below!!!

Cheers

Welcome to October!!!

Thank you so much to everyone that came out for the Muni Member Closing Scramble. The weather was perfect, the golf course was in great shape, and the full field was awesome to see. To our volunteers who stepped up and helped with the day, as I was away at a wedding, I can’t thank you enough. Your willingness to help with registration, food service, and handling the prize table draw are what make the Muni so great.

Next week (October 12th-15th) the Muni will be hosting the PGA of Canada for 3 days in the clubhouse. During this time the clubhouse will remain closed with the only access to the clubhouse being the locker rooms and washrooms.

On these 3 days we will also try a new tee sheet format to help with frost delays and clubhouse usage, a 9 hole 9:30am shotgun start. Everyone should still be able to log on and book online as normal, you will just be reserving a starting hole at 9:30am versus a time but if you have any issues please just call the clubhouse and we will slot you in. Also for those wanting to play 18 on those days just a regular tee time will need to be made for your back 9 starting at 12pm.

We look forward to hosting these industry Professionals and showcasing The Muni.

Thank you to everyone who signed up for our Muni Member’s Closing Scramble, The event is now full!!

Below I have posted the starting holes for each group. We do have a huge demand and small supply for carts. I have done my best to make sure players who need a cart or have a cart membership have been looked after and those who have requested a cart get at least one cart in their group.

We look forward to a great day of Golf, Food and Prizes!!!

Range Closes For The Season– Our range closes for the season October 1st. This allows us time to do some maintenance work on the tee deck and get the safety nets down Borden St. in before poor weather.

Tee times– In October we will also see start times for the day bumped back to 8:30am, allowing the grounds crew time to prepare the course in the morning, with the later sunrise and to help with Frost Delays. We will also see drive carts off the course by 7:00pm starting in October and moving earlier as the sunsets sooner.

Hello Everyone

With September flying by I just wanted to send a quick email, with upcoming dates around The Muni!!

The Member Closing Scramble on October 1st is filling up quickly with only a few spots remaining. Sign up deadline will be this Thursday September 29th. Thank you to everyone who has already signed up. The tee sheet and event schedule will be released on Friday!!

Our Driving range will close for the season on Oct 1st, to allow for the range tee to recover for next season, and time for the perimeter nets to be put away before the bad weather.

The Kitchen will also remain closed for the first 3 weeks in October, as Chef Winona is on holidays. Only confectionary snacks will be available during this time period.

In October we will see start tee times moved back to 8:30am, allowing the grounds crew time to prepare the course in the morning with the later sunrise times and also to help with any frost delays that may occur.

Lastly Starting Oct 3rd our 25% fall pro shop sale will begin. This is a great time to get that new pair of shoes or replace your wedge for next season.

We look forward to a fantastic fall for golf.

Please check in with the Pro shop staff to see if your team claimed a winning spot and to pick up your gift card.

Course Construction

This past week we have seen the install of new drainage around the course. This drainage will help immensely in wet seasons keeping our course playing condition and carts on the course more often. Today we will see these trenches hydro seeded for regrowth. We will do our best to mark all the trenches but we need players to keep off these sections with carts, pull carts and to avoid walking on them. On hole 4 and 8 we will create a passage with signage and but the rest will be up to players remaining off so we can have grass back healthy and fast.
