Just a quick update on the course conditions and closing date.

We will be open today Oct 28th for walking only!!

The course remains very wet but with the weekend forecast tomorrow Friday Oct 29th will be the final day for the 2021 season. We want to thank everyone for the amazing year and look forward to more great golf in 2022.

With the wet conditions and course closures it has allowed us to build the simulator in the clubhouse and it is almost ready for use. Please continue to watch here for updates on how to book your winter golf rounds.

“I’ve never seen the course this wet ever” is the quote I have been hearing non stop from members over the past couple weeks, and with yesterdays rains it is even worse.

The course at the moment is not even playable for walkers as even push carts and foot prints are bringing mud to the surface. Hopefully we see a few more golf days before the season ends but with closing day being Oct 31st it is not looking great and I can say with confidence we will not see a cart on the course again in 2021.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out Saturday for our Club Closing Scramble. It was great to see a full field enjoying a great fall day for golf with meals from 9Teen and prizes. We can’t wait to start 2022 off in the same fashion!!

Lastly our 2021 AGM will be held in a digital form again year and will be released the week of November 22nd. Please continue to follow Muni minutes for details on how to obtain the AGM and for voting and question protocol. Also anyone interested in becoming a member of the board in 2022 please reach out to myself or Terry Adair.

Fall is here!!

What a weekend of weather that was. Rain and cold both Saturday and Sunday have the course soaked and without carts again. We will remain open for walkers only and Hopefully we can see carts back out soon but the course needs some major drying.

The driving range is now closed for the season. Allowing for year end maintenance and giving the tee deck time to recover for next season.

Our club closing this Saturday Oct 23rd is almost full. We only have a few single spots available. If your group is only a 3 some please let Kyle know ASAP if you have found a forth so the spot isn’t filled by someone looking to join in on the fun day. Also if you are a single looking to join please let Kyle know.

Lastly some players beat me to the tee sheet for Saturday and book tee times. I have sent you all private emails but due to the shotgun start the course will be closed in the morning. I am sorry for the inconvenience but if you still want to play Saturday, there are those few spots available.

Cheers

This week we hosted 16 golf Professionals from around Ontario for a 3 day seminar by PGA of Canada. The professionals absolutely loved the Muni and want to pass along many thanks to the members for their generosity in giving up the clubhouse and range during their stay. We will be hosting another seminar in October for a different batch of professionals and we look forward to putting the best Muni forward again.

Registration for our simulator leagues will begin next week. The Muni will host 3 leagues with limited space available on a first come first serve basis. Leagues will run from the 3rd week in November maybe sooner weather dependent until April 1st also weather dependent, and are as follows.

Sr.’s league (both men and women welcome) held on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday mornings and early afternoons.

Ladies League Thursday nights and Friday Mornings

Men’s League- Monday and Wednesday nights

In the spirit of Ryder Cup week the guy at 9Teen and myself thought why not have a little fun with a Ryder Cup style meal. This Friday join us for live music from Jack Demarest (6pm to 8pm) along with American and European themed meals. I personally saw Jack this weekend and you wont want to miss this night of Music and Food.

Next week we will be hosting the PGA of Canada for a 3 day seminar. Monday September 27th to Wednesday September 29th. The clubhouse will be sectioned off and mostly off limits during this time. Access to the locker room and washrooms will still be available, and beer and food service may be ordered from the patio. We will also see the ranged closed on Tuesday September 28th for this event. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes but we look forward to showing the PGA of Canada the Muni.

Lastly this winter we are looking to operate a golf simulator in the clubhouse. We will be offering various leagues through simulator memberships both during the day and night. Registration will begin in the coming week and anyone interested or looking for more details please feel free to reach out for more details, or show your interested as spaces will be limited.

Hello Everyone

This week was our final Men’s league week. Although it was a shortened season due to Covid with only 14 weeks instead of our regular 20, it was nice to have some competition back. Everyone who hasn’t played yet will have until Sunday to submit their scores. Once scoring is complete the prizes will be available at the counter starting next Wednesday. Just let the pro shop staff know your team and name and they will get you your prize. Thank you again to everyone that played Men’s League and hopefully we see it move towards a normal league again next season.

Tonight we will see Chuckee Zehr playing live music on the patio for our 9 and Dine. There is still some spots left for golf is anyone is interested in playing first, but we will also just take anyone looking to enjoy the meal and music. Dinner cost is $15 plus tax.

This Wednesday Sept 22nd we will see Vaccine Certificate mandates for all non essential businesses. This means for us that anyone who wishes to sit and enjoy a meal or drink in the clubhouse must have proof of vaccination and photo ID. The board and myself are working on procedures that can work for the golf course staff, members and guest the best, but we will follow all public health guidelines from the province and local health authorities.

Lastly coming up on Sept 27th to the 29th the clubhouse will be very limited use as we are hosting 25 PGA of Canada professionals for an educational seminar. The range will also be closed on the 28th for this seminar. We apologize for any inconvenience but we look forward to hosting these professionals and showing them The Muni.

Kyle
