Muni Minute

Hello everyone,

I am getting some emails about the Chronogolf welcome and verifying email that was sent Friday. This email was only sent to anyone who hasn’t had a verified Chronogolf account before. If you have used the email provided us to make a tee time at any Chronogolf using golf course then your account would already be verified. St Mary’s Country Club being the closest course to use the system. Or if after purchase you downloaded the app and verified yourself before the email was sent, you too would not of received this email.

For anyone who is still struggling here are some pictures with step by step instructions for getting on.

Step 1: Visit Chronogolf.ca and click Log in

Step 2: Try logging in with the email you supplied us and any password it might be. If that doesn’t work click Member of a club using Chronogolf/ Read the instructions for Members. (Circled in photo below)

Step 3: Read/Try all instructions, and if all else fails contact Kyle as your email may have been enter incorrectly.

I hope this helps anyone who is still struggling with getting on the new system and I am love seeing the tee sheet start to fill for opening day next Saturday.

Hello Everyone

With a week of what seemed like June weather and courses in the area starting to open up, I just thought I would take this moment to let everyone know what we have been up to around the Muni.

Many driving by might have seen numerous dump trucks, gravel piles and big machinery, as our new patio construction is now underway. We are hoping to see it completed by the end of next week but it will be weather depending. We have also been able to take this time to finish all the course clean up from the mass tree removal we saw over the winter and our bunker renovations. *Please know that if we felt we could of opened, we would of, but with the machinery in and out of driveway and around clubhouse we didn’t deem it safe.* We also want to give everyone good playing conditions with cut greens and a clean course, and with that being said The Muni wintered beautifully and we are excited for everyone to see the course and changes come opening day.

Opening Day? When might that be? We are excited to announce that are goal for Opening day will be Saturday April 3rd. All members will receive a welcome email today from Chrono golf our new tee sheet provider with account information, and a small tutorial on how it works. This also means that the tee sheet with be live for booking!!! Please note that on the tee sheet it states that tee times booked are dependent on weather and course opening, but hopefully we see nothing but nice weather and everyone out enjoying themselves come the 3rd.

Lastly we hosted our first ever fitting day on Tuesday with Cobra golf, where we saw 12 players all be fitted and purchase new clubs from our Muni Pro shop. It was a great day with Cobra staff members on site dialing in perfect shafts and clubs for our players and we even received a message after from a happy customer stating “I feel like a kid who just got home from Disney Land” Our next fitting is April 22nd from 11pm till 5pm on the Muni Range please contact myself or Scott to reserve your spot as they are filling up fast.

I look forward to seeing everyone out soon

Hello Everyone

As we start to see Spring like weather we have been working hard to get The Muni ready for another season. The golf course has wintered great and the upcoming beautiful weather did have us consider opening for a few days but with the extended forecast still cold, with chances of snow, we have decided to remain closed and use these nice days to continue preparing the course, so that we have clean playing surfaces and cut grass when we do finally open. If the forecast changes we will be ready to open though and it’s looking like it might be a very very early start to the year with lots of April golf.

Our yearly tournament/ league schedule has also been set, so save these dates in your calendar:

June 26th- 3 Man Cash Scramble ***New Event***

July 3rd- Men’s Invitational

July 25th- Sr Men’s Club Championship

August 7th-8th- Men’s Club Championship

August 22nd- Ladies Club Championship

September 11th-12th- Romeo Cup

We will also have our Men’s League operating again this season with some minor changes due to Covid and tee sheet availability. All information can be found on the website under the Men’s leagues section.

Our Monday morning Jr. Program will also see changes due to Covid with the regular program still not operating. We will be offer two 4 day golf camps from 8am till 12pm with limited numbers from June 29th to July 2nd and August 3rd to August 6th. Cost is $250 and registration and sign up info can be found on the website on the Jr golf league section.

Lastly we are now in the clubhouse every Monday to Friday from 8am till 4pm for anyone who still wishes to come in and get their 2021 membership.

I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Thank you everyone who took the time yesterday and Friday to call in and purchase their Muni memberships, or has sent E-transfer. We have seen lots of regulars and new faces already joining the Muni for the 2021 season, and we look forward to seeing many more in the coming to weeks.

With the announcement that we can move back into the orange category on Tuesday, we will be allowing people to come into the clubhouse to purchase their memberships on February 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th from 12pm till 4pm. Covid rules must be followed with the wearing of a mask, and we will monitor the number of people in the clubhouse at one time. If you are uncomfortable coming in we will still take credit card payments over the phone or the usual E-transfer to [email protected].

Look forward to seeing everyone who comes in the next couple weeks.

Hello Everyone

Just another quick reminder that our Early Membership Prices end on February 28th, and that we are currently taking membership payments via E-Transer at [email protected] and will be answering the phones in clubhouse on Feb 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th from 12pm till 4pm for anyone who wishes to call in and pay via credit card over the phone or drop off a cheque at the front door.

Also we have been seeing an increase in people snow shoeing and cross country skiing on the property and across our greens and new bunkers and we are asking nicely if people would remain off the property as this can cause damage to both the greens and our new bunkers.

Look forward to seeing everyone in the Spring

We have also recently launched our new online booking service and yesterday added anyone who joined during our Pay Now Play Now deal in the fall, you may have received an email today from the new system about your log in information and everyone else will receive theirs as they purchase their 2021 membership. It may be a little learning curve in the Spring for everyone but the new system will be much more user friendly for members, guest and staff.

I look forward to hearing from everyone either over email or phone coming up and then seeing everyone once the season begins.

Hello Everyone

As 2021 has hit us with another lockdown and stay at home order I hope everyone is staying safe and finding ways to stay busy without golf. It has been awhile since I’ve sent out a Muni Minute as we ourselves have been keeping busy at the Muni with many improvements this Fall/Winter.

We saw Vergeer Golf Inc. come in and renovate all of our bunkers.

Seen the majority of our dead ash trees removed from course.

Changed over our tee sheet system from Tee-on.com to ChronoGolf which will give everyone an easier and smoother tee time making experience.

Freshened up our bar area, along with adding a Pro Shop where the pool table used to be, as the Muni will now offer Cobra/Puma, attire, clubs, etc. for sale, along with serval fitting days throughout the year hosted on our range.

Lastly preparing for our new “much bigger” patio, which we should see construction begin end of March and completed by end of April for us to enjoy during the 2021 season.

I truly can’t wait for everyone to see these changes as we always continue to making the Muni the best it can be.

With that being said we are normally starting to prepare for our Early Membership Sales in February, with the clubhouse open for sales on Fridays and Saturdays. I am currently trying to find ways that we can still accommodate these sales within the new restrictions, but for the time being we do offer the option of membership purchases being made via E-transfers and anyone interested should email [email protected] for purchasing information. We also are working on ideas such as open hours for purchases to be made via credit card over the phone remotely, and curbside drop-off style payment during these hours for anyone who still pays via cheque.

I hope to have a solid plan in place in the coming week and will post all details via Muni Minute, Website and our Facebook Page.

Can’t wait to be back golfing in 2021

Stay Safe

Hello Everyone

What a couple weeks of weather to start Nov!! I just wanted to send a quick update on what has happened around the course during this time. Last week we saw 40 dead ash tree removed from holes 6 and 7 along with the start of our full bunker renovation, and hopefully by the end of next week the bunkers will be fully completed, ready for play first thing next spring. This winter we will also see the removal of the forest left of 2 green and the majority of the remaining dead ash on holes 8 and 9. We know it was hard to not be out playing last week in the perfect weather but it has allowed us to get a huge jump start on these projects bringing you the best Muni possible in 2021. I really look forward to everyone seeing these changes come Spring!!

Lastly to complete our 2020 AGM Process here is a quick update from the Board.

Thank you to all members that participated in the AGM process by
requesting report packages.  A few errors were spotted in the package
and corrections were made.

Four 3-year terms were open for the board of directors and the following
members were acclaimed to the positions. Congratulations to Jamie
Antonio, Jack Brooks, Dan Martin and Mark Nelson.

This muni minute concludes the process for the 2020 AGM.
