It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, The Muni lost a beloved member of our family with the passing of Gary Franklin.

Gary was part of The Muni for more than 20 years, and during that time he became so much more than just an employee — he was family. He never missed a day of work, and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. If something stumped him, he would go home, learn how to do it, and return the next day ready to solve the problem.

Many of you will remember seeing Gary’s friendly smile as he cut the fairways, always with a wave and a kind word. His work ethic, positivity, and presence touched every part of our course and our community. Quite simply, The Muni would not be what it is today without him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Gary’s family and friends during this difficult time. We will all miss him dearly, but his legacy and the countless ways he shaped The Muni will never be forgotten.

Aeration is one of the most important cultural practices we do each season. It relieves soil compaction, improves water and nutrient movement into the soil, and helps us maintain the smooth, fast, and healthy greens The Muni is known for. This event is open to both members and non-members, and includes:

Cost:

• $45 for members
• $90 for non-members

Tee Block Update

We’re excited to report that the new tee blocks on holes 5, 8, and 9 are now open, and we’re hoping to open the remaining new tees within the next week.

Cobra Fitting Day – Friday, June 13 (11 AM – 4 PM)

Join us at the range this Friday, June 13th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM for a Cobra Fitting Day. Test out the latest DS-Adapt line with Future Fit 33 technology and get custom fit for your game by the experts.

Spots are still available — sign up today in the pro shop to reserve your time.

Steam Whistle Tasting on the Patio – June 13 (12 PM – 5 PM)

While you’re here for your fitting or just enjoying a round, head to the patio for a Steam Whistle tasting this Friday from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. We’ll also be sampling our popular Muni Lite beer — the perfect pairing for a warm summer afternoon. Come relax, sample, and enjoy the clubhouse atmosphere.

Junior Clinic Reminder – Range Closures

Our Junior Clinics continue for the next two weeks on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Please note that the driving range will be closed during these times for the safety of our junior participants.

June is shaping up to be an exciting month at Stratford Municipal Golf Course! Here’s what you need to know about what’s happening around the course:

Junior Clinics Begin June 9

Our Junior Clinics kick off on Monday, June 9th, and will run Monday and Tuesday evenings for 3 weeks from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM through June 24th.

Please note: The driving range will be closed during these clinic times to provide a safe and focused environment for our junior participants. Thank you for your understanding and support as we help grow the game with our next generation of golfers.

Cobra Fitting Day – Thursday, June 13 (11 AM – 4 PM)

We’re excited to welcome Cobra Golf back to The Muni on Friday, June 13th from 11 AM to 4 PM for another fitting day at the range.

Test out the latest DS-Adapt line and experience the precision of the Future Fit 33 system. Spots are limited—visit the pro shop to book your custom fitting session.

Steam Whistle Patio Tasting – June 13 (12 PM – 5 PM)

Join us on the patio Friday, June 13th from 12 PM – 5 PM as Steam Whistle Brewing hosts a tasting session. You’ll also have the chance to sample our new Muni Lite beer, created to pair perfectly with a summer round at The Muni.
