Month: July 2021

Muni Minute

July has seen lots of rain and heat, keeping the course in fantastic conditions and green as can be. I still can’t believe it is the 22nd already.

This weekend we will see 45 of our Sr. Men tee off for a chance to become our 2021 Sr. Club Champion. Tee times have now been entered into Chronogolf and everyone should of received a tee time confirmation to their email. You will also be able to log onto Chronogolf and view the tee sheet to see your start time if you did not receive the email. Good luck to all our competitors.

Our next upcoming event will be our Men’s Club Championship on August 7th and 8th. Signing up is as easy as paying the event fee at the pro shop counter. Cost is $40 and includes a meal after play Sunday, prizes, and the chance to become our 2021 Club Champion.

Yesterday we also saw our last Cobra fitting day of the season. Thank you to everyone who came to the 4 fittings and supported these events. We have seen great success in joining the Cobra Puma team and we look forward to continuing our partnership in 2022. Although we have no more fitting days remaining clubs can still be purchased or ordered at anytime. Also continue to watch our Muni minutes and clubhouse news boards for deals on pro shop items like shoes, hats and clothing.

Here’s to a great second half of the season.

On Friday we will be entering stage 3 of the Ontario re-opening plan. I just wanted to touch base on what that looks like around the Muni.

The clubhouse will now be open for inside drinks and dining. There is no limit to the number of people allowed at one table, with physical distancing and other restrictions still in effect. (Please Scan QR code and do Covid screening/ tracking)

The patio will also see no limits on number of patrons at one table, with same physical distancing and other restrictions in effect.

Our pro shop will be fully open for shopping as long as a 2 meter distance is kept while inside pro shop area.

At this point face coverings will not be required to ride in a cart. Mask wearing will remain in place for entering the clubhouse.

There are no longer any restrictions to on course touch points. Meaning we will see the return of being able to pull the flag (if you wish), ball washers, and limited number of rakes.

I look forward to seeing the course one step closer to “normal”.

Lastly registration for the Sr. Men’s Club Championship on July 25th is open and you can register by paying in the clubhouse or online via your Chronogolf account.

June seen the start of many things around the Muni. From our Men’s league return, to our first 3 man scramble and Men’s invitational last week.

Congratulations to the team of Huggins, Huggins, and MacKenzie on their impressive score of 16 under to claim the 3-man title, and the Keith Hunter who won our Men’s Invitational at the age of 17 with a score of 70. Beating out Steve Feeney after two playoff holes.

In July we have our Sr. Men’s Club championship coming up on Sunday July 25th. Registration is now live on Chronogolf.com or via the link posted below.

We will also see the move to Stage 3 very soon, and the ability to use clubhouse again to lounge. Along with that we will probably see the return to normal cups on the course and ability to remove flag stick (If desired) as courses in the area start to move back towards normal practices.

Lastly the Ken’s food truck will no longer be with us on Wednesdays in the parking lot. It was great to have them for the 4 weeks we did and I hope everyone got to enjoy the great food, but with the opening of their new brewhouse the truck is needed there and will no longer be visiting us. The board and myself are currently working on new food options that will not only cater Wednesday nights but provide the course with daily food options.
